Blacks Beach Beach Cleanup and Surfing
Posted onThe three organizations come together for a Beach Clean up and Surfing Lesson for Outdoor Outreach members with and emphasis on improving the places where we play. Groups will meet at the Blacks Beach Main Trailhead at the Sundt Memorial Gate, the large iron gate, located at the corner of La Jolla Farms Road and Blackgold Road in La Jolla, Participants and gear will be ferried to the bottom of the road. Meet at the gate at 8:00 a.m sharp. We will begin with a tidying of the beach park, then the beach followed by a surfing lesson.
Outdoor Outreach:
Outdoor Outreach uses the outdoors to inspire youth to see possibility and opportunity in their lives and to realize the positive attitude and behavior changes that help them become happy, healthy and successful adults.
Blacks Beach Foundation:
The Foundation raises awareness to enhance safety, cleanliness and beauty of the beach for everyone who enjoys it, and fosters respect for the beach, water, it’s surrounding environment and all of its visitors.
Wonderfront Festival:
Wonderfront is a music festival that will span the San Diego waterfront, November 22-24 with more than 100 bands playing on 7 stages with water ferries shuttling between stages. Waterfront parks, piers and ships play host with more than 250 downtown establishments; hotels, restaurants and pubs all within walking distance.
Wonderfront charity outreach, works with more than 20 local and nation-wide charitable organizations and the city of San Diego to provide the opportunity for people to attend the event who would not be able to attend otherwise, for a host of reasons
